Who Am I ┃Quien Soy Yo

Having now been in practice for 6 years, I have developed by skills as a clinician to better serve the communities I am passionate about. I use my life experience to better allow me to empathize with my clients. At the end of the day, I am here to learn about you, your needs, and how we can collaborate to help you grow.

On a personal level, my passions are varied. I enjoy cooking for my loved ones, almost as much as I enjoy my work with clients. Weekends are usually filled with family and friends. My thumb isn’t as green as it once was, but I still have a plethora of plants at home and in my office. Pictured are my dog, Bonita, and cat, Kuzco. They have been the ever present shadows during my academic and professional journey. I can safely say life would have been much more challenging, without their warm embraces.

My Approach┃Mi Enfoque 

I believe a treatment approach that has it’s basis in theory, while incorporating on the job knowledge, as well as ensuring the message is tailored to the client’s specific needs is the best way to succeed. People should be taken as a whole to best be able to address the ongoing concerns that they are experiencing. On a theoretical basis, my holistic perspective helps to build client strengths, blending together aspects from CBT, ACT, DBT, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness. Depending on the population, child-led play, play therapy, and IFS also have concepts to I can draw from.
