In the process of finding a name I searched long and hard before returning back to my own name. IR is the story of not just my heritage as a Mexican immigrant and my family, but the journey of how we got here. For years my identity was something that I struggled to grasp having been born in Mexico but spent most of my life stateside. Nowadays, it is a point of pride; I am fortunate enough to have access to both communities, allowing me to help a larger number of people. The flowers and language of growth throughout this page is something I hope to carry over into therapy. Plants are can grow despite unexpected challenges so long as they take the time and effort to protect them and help them flourish. And now that you are here, the I hope that to you IR stands for “I’m ready”. To flourish. To rediscover yourself. To process what has happened. To not let your past define you but instead to take control of your path forward.

Education and Experience ┃ Educacion y Experiencia 

  • Marquette University (2013-2017): Bachelor’s in Psychology with minors in Family Studies and English Literature. 

  • Marquette University Graduate School (2017-2019): Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a focus on the Child and Adolescent track. 

  • Family Options Counseling (2019-2021): Individual, group, and family therapy. Specialized services for victims and perpetrators of underage sexual assault.

  • Red Oak Counseling (2021-2022): Individual, group, family, and couple’s therapy. Continued to build on prior experiences, facing new challenges in treating diverse populations.

  • Life Stance Health (2022-2025): Individual, family, and couple’s therapy. Honed skills further working to reach level of comfort necessary to venture off individually. 

  • Nationally Certified Counselor (2021-Present): Maintained good standing with National Board of Certified Counselors, avoiding any ethics and/or legal issues, as well as completing required continuing education credits necessary renewal.
